Masujiro Hashimoto founded the Kaishinsha Motor Car Works, (A Good Company Automobile Manufacturer) 1 July 1911 and became Japan’s first automobile manufacturer. In 1914, the company produced its first car, called DAT. In 1931, the company came out with a new smaller car, called the Datsun Type 11, the first “Datson”, (meaning “Son of DAT”).

The name ‘Nissan’ originated during the 1930s as an abbreviation used on the Tokyo Stock Exchange for Nihon Sangyo, the holding company for Kaishinsha Motor Car Works. The Nissan name was born.

Today, synonymous for it’s quality, reliability, and, performance, the Nissan brand has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, giving us some of of the most recognisable cars on the road today.

The all new Nissan Qashqai reinvents affordable quality in the compact SUV market, and builds on the previous models strengths, while the all new Nissan X-Trail re-writes the book for 7 seat off roaders, with it’s stylish design and exceptional levels of kit.
